The most frequent chief complaint of patients with clinical otosclerosis is hearing loss, although tinnitus and vertigo may also occur. Patients with otosclerosis usually present with bilateral hearing loss (~70% of patients) that has been gradually worsening over many years. Typically, the hearing loss starts in one ear and, over time, progresses to involve the other ear.
